MUSIC
Music is a very important part of our church life. At a Sunday service, you will hear classic hymns on our beautiful pipe organ mingled with newer contemporary music on piano or from one of our string ensembles. Dr. David Maxwell is the music minister, organist and choir director as well as an accomplished and published composer. The choir always welcomes new members!
MONTHLY BOOK GROUP
Book Group meets in Pastor Bryans office the 4th Sunday of each month right after the service. Based on current Covid levels, we will be offering a hybrid group - join us in person or via Zoom.
Check This Week at State Street Weekly email for link. Click More button below for September book details and meeting info.
KIDS
State Street Church, Woodfords Congregational Church, Williston-Immanuel United Church, St. Luke's Cathedral & Hope Gateway are working together to create awesome programs for kids. Led by 2 dynamic youth ministers serving kids of all ages! Meet new people, make new friends!
COUNCIL
Our Council, led by Moderator Barbara Conroy, provides leadership and direction for the congregation.
MISSION BOARD
Members of our Mission Board led by Barbara Conroy and Eunice Bentley are focused on serving our diverse community and its many needs.
DEACONS
When you arrive at church on Sundays, you will be met by our friendly deacons as they greet everyone and carry out their responsibilities each Sunday morning. Steve Conroy is our deacon leader.
TECH CREW
The Tech Crew works on the website, the church network and livestreaming. We are looking for a volunteer to manage our social media accounts. Contact Pastor Bryan if you are interested.
CLOTHES CLOSET
Though currently closed due to Covid, the Clothes Closet is undergoing a move into a new, renovated space and will open in the fall of 2022!
We expect to begin accepting donations again at the end of summer.
The Clothes Closet provides clothing and small household goods to anyone in need.
WOMEN'S GROUP
The Women's Group has an annual off-site retreat usually at the Marie Joseph Center on the ocean. Covid has slowed us down a bit, but hasn't stopped us. We recently volunteered for the afternoon at Maine Needs and got ready for our furniture sale.
Coffee Hour
COFFEE HOUR
As soon as Covid restrictions ease, we will be back to gathering for light refreshements immediately following the Sunday service. Volunteers are needed to organize, prepare and serve the refreshments. Stay tuned.
